Facewalls
Facewalls.
Marc Canter on Faces. Marc Canter has some interesting observations about faces as an interface tool, and points to some other sites or technologies he thinks are doing it right. [Corante: Social Software]
Clay knows that faces are at the core of a person's soul. It's been fun to watch facerolls spread throughout the blogosphere - starting with Joi and Jason. My favorite feature of Friendster is looking at my 100+ friends faces - in banks of 25. We call that a facewall.
We had a crude facewall working that was part of our MediaBar ('96-'97.) Everyone who logged into the system had their face garbbed, resized (in front of their eyes) and inserted in various interfaces - like jukeboxes, food and drink ordering system and multi-player games. We had 25 stations in my house. [Marc's Voice]
