From the NOOOO Dept:
Dear CVS:

When I bought your Aloe Gel I was expecting it to have aloe in it.

It smells like I'm rubbing cough drops into my legs. I probably am, as it says right on the bottom "Lidocaine and Menthol".

From the Ahhhh Dept
Status: Slightly bored, slightly relaxed. Slightly burning (went camping this weekend, and got burnt for my troubles).

Activities for the night: Nerdy Python stuff.

How I feel about all this: Scared, as the Python I wrote feels a lot like C++. But It's also very good and flexible python.

In a Word: Ahhhhh....gahh.

Ok, that's two words run together.

From the Its-My-Rant Dept

I'm sorry... I may be having deja-rant here (the feeling that you've ranted on this topic before), but I don't see anything in my archives... stop me if you've heard this one.

I went to college at RIT, a college with like 13,000 some odd students.

I also live in an area with about 6-10K people in a 30 minute wide triangle (for the most part). So, three small towns.

At any given time I'd say there's 3-5 people from the area at RIT - or so I'm told.... but wait, I have a point here.

When people around here hear where I went to school, they either:

  • Give me a blank stare ... "Oh, that's nice"
  • Ask if I know Bobby Joe who goes/went there as well

The former I can deal with - at this point I'm sort of used to it. (I probably assume that everybody knows a lot of the background knowledge I have in my head - and that assumption worked at school. It doesn't here, sadly.)

The latter irritates me every time, for some reason.

Of course I know all 13,000 students on campus. Personally. In my vast free time I also water ski and have picked up quilt making...... ... right.

Yes, I've probably seen Bobby Joe, walking to and from class. Maybe I helped them with their computer (at ResNET). Maybe they served me at the Corner Store, hey, it's possible.

But, no, I don't know Bobby Joe. I only know one person from the area that's up there - and that's because he went to my high school.

Usually when I tell people how many students are at RIT they're quite taking aback... "Ohhhh". Yes, it's a Decently Big School - not like the local college with 2,000-3,000 students.

I believe the people from my area who read h3xck3r+=boi already know this, so it won't do any good.. but I needed to rant.
