More on Dave Barry Doc Searls is having a Dave fest and he debunks my statement (assumption) that Dave Barry has been relegated to seven days of shelf life. Doc does some more research and determines that Dave Barry is available elsewhere and now has a shelf life of 90 days. Not great, but better.

Mark Pilgrim has also updated his original story.

Compression Patterns This article describes some core research which is going to lead people in all kinds of directions. One of them is scary, but such is life. Digging Deep Into Compression. New methods of compressing files are enabling researchers to discover previously unknown sources of information. [via Wired News]

It's going swimmingly Tomorrow's headlines, today. This will no doubt be #1 on DayPop tomorrow. Don't say I didn't warn you. [via diveintomark [via Deadly Bloody Serious ]]

I sort of got bamboozled into reading this, but Mark is right, this is going to be big.

Dave Barry has a muffler. Bummer! I love reading Dave Barry's columns, and over the years I've had some interesting exchanges with people from The Miami Herald. Now it seems, they don't want to play. Sure, I've been a Dave Barry freeloader as I mentioned a few days ago. Every once in a while someone points out a new piece, and I go catch up for the last few weeks.

Oh, he's still online, but The Miami Herald has made it impossible to keep up or link to things he's done. I wish they'd read this and see if some part of this is applicable. Immediate link rot is awful, more so for the people who've already paid for the content and want to share.

Rats! [diveintomark]
