The World as a theme park

GPS stories
The Tablet PC has only been out for a month, and already people have figuring out an interesting new use for it: geographically-based multimedia storytelling. Go to latitude 34 North and and longitude 118 West in Los Angeles with a GPS-enabled Tablet PC, where a group of artists have created a "GPS Controlled Interactive Narrative." Depending on where you are and how you move about the site, you experience the story in different ways: "GPS tracks your location and determine how the story is delivered. The landscape becomes the interface. Every version is rendered in real-time, according to your pattern of movement." Read [Via Fimoculous]... [Gizmodo]

Erik's New Years Resolutions

meSince I was already in the mood, I figured I'd get an early start on my list of New Year's resolutions. So here it is:
  1. Lose 30 pounds in 30 days.
  2. Earn a second Ph. D. from home.
  3. Massively enlarge my penis.
  4. Make $$$ on the Internet.
  5. Invent a way to block spam, 100% guaranteed.

trimming the news feed
I'm trying to winnow down my blogroll, and first off the list are most of the RSS feeds that only supply headlines. I'll keep Slashdot, and hope that someone can help me find a RSS feed that includes the whole articles, and not the secondary comments, (although those are sometimes worth it).

Updated: I've also said goodbye to the reverse cowgirl's blog. No time to keep up!

GM out the door
LF shipped their fc1 to the duplicator today, and they are waiting to receive the glass master. Ev caught me off-guard when she asked about Macr, and I felt like i fumbled after a blind tackle. She's always with a genuine smile on life, but I could tell she didn't like to hear that news. Best practices are built on practice, I've been saying for the last few days, and there is always room to improve. I hope they take my suggestion for a post-mordem review to heart. And I hope I can keep a dialog open with Gl, Ev, Ol, and all my new friends in the "mac pit" :-)
