WikiFormatting
I thought to add wiki-like formatting rules to yesterday's list of
lightweight markup systems. Semantically, I suspect that the main
additional feature they use is to turn wiki-page titles into URLs.
I did a bit of research today, and there does not seem to be much
of a standard.
Ward Cunningham's
original wiki
has
one set of rules; other wiki systems
seem to have various
other sets of
formatting rules, and there
is a
Perl module that embodies another set.
A detailed comparison of features is left as an exercise
for someone with more time and interest in the subject
than I have.
