Denver November 2006 Election

MakesMeRalph: "Can we please clear the decks and not have the silly show that went on in this year's Senate Race? The Hill (the official newspaper of Capitol staffers in DC) says that (Mark) Udall is definitely in the race for governor, and this comes from his Chief of Staff."

Every Vote counts

Taegan Goddard: "Control of Montana's House of Representatives has apparently come down to two votes in one legislative district, according to the Billings Gazette. Pending a recount later this month, it appears a third-party candidate has defeated his Democratic opponent by just two votes. (The Republican candidate was a distant third.) Because no one really knows who's going to prevail in the recount, both candidates are at the orientation this week for newly-elected members." Say hello to the Salazars for me.

2008 Presidential Election

The Western Democrat makes the case for a Western primary in 2008. Mr. O'Connell writes, "On the surface it would seem like Republicans just as much Democrats would benefit from a unified Western primary, but the point is not necessarily building the party in the West. While that is an important goal, I think we should focus on the primary now in order to build the region in the party. The Democratic Party needs Western Democrats and one of the best ways to influence the party is through primaries. If we want the Western Primary, now is the time to act."

2004 Presidential Transition

TalkLeft is pointing to a CBS/New York Times poll showing Americans as being lukewarm to the President's agenda. The results question the claims of an electoral mandate. What does it matter now that the Congress is so solidly red?

Dennis Kucinich's blog is active again. Coyote Gulch welcomes Mr. Kucinich back to the blogosphere along with all blogging politicians and candidates.

Update: Electoral-vote.com: "Here is some information about the exit polls."

Denver November 2004 Election

Here's an article about Govenor Owens, choosing the replacement, for U.S. Senator elect Ken Salazar from the Denver Post [November 23, 2004, "Dems demand bipartisan pick from Owens for attorney general"]. Salazar is Colorado's Attorney General until January when he moves to Washington D.C. From the article, "When Republican Gov. Bill Owens chooses a successor to Democratic Attorney General Ken Salazar, the nominee will have to share Salazar's values and appeal to both political parties, according to Senate Democrats who have the power to derail Owens' choice."
