A picture named electoralcollege73104small.jpg 2004 Presidential Election

Electoral-vote.com has a new feature. If you click on any state they show a graph of presidential polls for that state. Very cool Votemeister.

From the comments section on Coyote Gulch, Denise Savage writes, "I've developed a petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/838061771 urging the candidates and their campaigns to elevate the debate. We must focus on the real issues and, again, insert civility into the political equation. Foreign Policy, National Security, Civil Liberties, Health Care, the Environment deserve serious discourse this election year. The American public deserves thoughtful debate on the important issues facing our Country today. We do not need our attention diverted from major issues of the day."

Also from the comments, Ed Fitzgerald has a roundup of the Electoral College.

Update: Jim Russell: "The picture I have in my mind of Kerry bending over from his boat picking some hapless guy out of the river while all hell was breaking loose around us, is a picture based on fact and it cannot be disputed or changed. It's a piece of history drawn in my mind that cannot be redrawn. Sorry, 'Swift Boats Veterans for the Truth'- that is the truth." Mr. Russell defends John Kerry in a letter to the editor published in the Telluride (Colorado) Daily Planet.

Update: Taegan Goddard "According to modern polling data, presidential debates appear crucial in determining the winner -- particularly in close elections. Since 1960, the Gallup poll conducted just after the debates accurately predicted the winner of the election each time. On three occasions -- 1960, 1980 and 2000 -- the ultimate loser actually led in the pre-debate poll."

Update: Taegan Goddard: "Kerry jumps to large lead in Battleground." He's pointing to the latest Wall Street Journal - Zogby battleground states poll.
