The Saturday Morning First Post Looking Forward Thing

More often than not, the weekend begin right here. In front of the computer blogging pad, quiet in the house, and the weight of all the things that need to get done and all the things there are to create is most weighing. The major obligations of the week have been lifted (I guess I shouldn't say major because family maintenance is always there and the needs of the children and desire to be there for them grows daily): lunch prep, me-kids-dog breakfast prep, backpack prep, kids-me out the door on time, WORK, kids-rescue from well-meaning but non-family educators, dinner prep, collapse. Revealing enough other obligations just as important but not as time contrained...enough to fill a 2 car garage not homing any vehicles. And raising mostly false-hope for time to spend freely thinking, dreaming, and creating...and writing about it all here. So where's the forward thinking in this rant of somewhat dashed past experience?

Just writing it. And hoping that I can continue to write about the little things. The things that happen here in what ever life I'm making and living now. The things that when put together describe me and that life. That maybe at some later date, I, my kids, my family, my friends can see what made VO tick.

And looking forward to some accomplishment to crow about. It seems important to me to do that. The first post thing on Saturday is usually a way to put those weekend things out there to both itemize for my own sanity and to share with interested folks what's going on. To see what I can get done. Or started.

On the list: Courtyard clean-up (in the rain, no less)...getting rid of lots of debris from the various construction efforts and I must take some pics before to show what a stye it is. I am excited at the prospect of that. Soccer game...questionable with rain. BDay lunch for little sis. BDay party for work friend (a big 50). Clearing the second half of the back-40 fence. And trying to do some forward thinking and planning for the show: this is such a necessity if I'm wanting to take it to another level...the last minute prepping and panting that usually precedes the show, while exhilerating and exciting, is just not going to cut it if I want it to be anything more than a haphazard, semi-controlled riot...but plans are being formulated...you'll know something's up when you hear a pre-recorded promo for the show during your non-Thursday listenings to Jazz 88.

I've rambled enough and I must now go tackle the list. Updates to occur as much as humanly possible. I do like this writing thing.

Much Love and a Good Weekend to all...VO
