The Vietnam War Heard, Read, and Remembered

NYTimes: Beyond the Grave, a Soldier's Voice Recovered

"As the reel turned and Baronowski's grainy voice spoke across the decades from barracks and bunkers, Mr. Duffie couldn't help thinking how much even the misty weather reminded him of Vietnam. He stopped the tape several times to step outside and let all the memories settle."

It's foggy and wet in the foothills of San Diego this morning. Many years from the spot in front of the family TV where the war came home to me. I knew of the war (and of all wars) from the news reports of the number of casualties read each night by Walter Cronkite. What will today's kids know of war in places far removed from us again?
