Hats Off and Thoughts To The People of Reform In Iran

Chritian Science Monitor: In Iran, a challenge to hardliners.

Tehran students protest the blasphemy sentence against reformist scholar Hashem Aghajari (r). The placard says 'will not be executed.'

"The protests are the most significant student action since 1999, when large street demonstrations erupted over the closure of a reform newspaper and were violently put down by proregime vigilantes."

The road to a more moderate and democratic, though still Islamic, state takes another turn. I'm fascinated by the fact that these same folks who revolted against the Shah and took the US Embassay in 1979 are now taking the next step to retake what the radical Islamic clergy took from them in that revolution: real demoncracy. The Iranian people are to be commended for continuing a long term struggle to rid themselves of tyranny from all sides.

Get Your Outlook Mail From Any Device, Not Just Another Computer

David Coursey: A new way to get Outlook access almost anywhere

"THE REAL SELLING POINT here is getting access to your e-mail and desktop PC files when they're sitting behind a firewall. If you have a VPN client on your laptop or another desktop, you can already access your Exchange server or files directly. He goes on to point out where this is different from other 'access your PC anywhere' things in that it doesn't use Java which doesn't really work on PDA's (I'm sure it does on some), web phones, etc. This just creates a web-browser interface to your Outlook and file system. Not really necessary for me in that my company provides Outlook Web Access. The real cool thing is getting to the file system from a PDA. Being able to make and drop files onto my PC at home which would then be upstreamed using Radio Userland to my weblog. Um...

PocketPC Does Music, Movies, Web Surfing, and Other Neat Things

Wei-Ming Lee: Eight Tips for Using Your Pocket PC

A cool little article about the wonderful things you can do with a Personal Digital Assistant running Microsoft's PocketPC. And I have been thinking about it.
