Many of Trent Lott's closest friends are Negroes, but he might spell it differently. Do you suppose black Republican students are the problem referred to by Majority Leader Lott in his speech Thursday, praising the racist, 1948 presidential campaign of centenarian Strom Thurmond? Nah - he must've been talking about the uppity ones.
