Question. I just reinstalled Windows XP. I now notice that Microsoft won't allow me to download a Java VM for IE 6 on XP. So, some sites are inoperative for me. Any ideas on a work-around?? [John Robb's Radio Weblog]
Sure, get a Mac! He.

A friend tells me there will not be mac.com email accounts for free. Eventually trial accounts will get a button to "manage email accounts" and you'll have the option to transform your account into a 10$ a year email only account associated with a full .mac account. In other words, this is just a way that a family with 4 mac.com accounts can keep all the emails for 130$ instead of 400$. It's not a bad deal if at least one perso in your family wants the full .mac services.
Update: The above was almost right if you buy a .mac account you can buy additional email only accounts for 10$ a year each (up to ten). Any Trial .mac account, which includes every existing iTools accounts, can be transformed into an email only account. You just have to know the password.

Why Countries Make Sites Unseen. Sex, drugs and rock-and-roll sites are verboten in Saudi Arabia. In China, a Web user can hardly find anything that doesn't support communism. A Harvard Law School study reveals why they choose to block what they block. By Noah Shachtman. [Wired News]
Women can't drive on Saudi Arabia. A Chinese can't read Henry David Thoreau. But they'd get offended if I called them backward cultures. Jeez!
