Operating system battling non-believers
Linux is rapidly graduating from a small cult to a mainstream religious movement. Its converts are multiplying rapidly, many as self-anointed evangelists preaching the gospel of open-source software that was created by Linus Torvalds of Finland in 1991.
I asked an IT manager flat out: Why don't you switch to Linux?
"Don't be ridiculous," IT Dave snorted. "You know how much time and effort it would take to rip everything out and replace it with Linux?"
The IT managers making these kind of arguments are those who believed that they had to consolidate in one OS, they have fallen into the classic one vendor trap and now they can't get out. It's like this, folks, you can pay now, you can pay later, or you can pay now and later... It's up to you.
