The service was down for most of the day, because of the load (Why does Apple screw up like that?), but I manage to use it and it is very good... The protection is good, not unbeatable, not draconian but good. Similar to what the iPod does... Very cool.
Is this a great service I can't live without? Too early to call. Will it destroy the free downloads for Mac users? Well, there isn't much to destroy, so I think Mac users will appreciate finding music to put in their computer in a easy, friendly and cheap manner... We shall see how much money this represents for Apple. That's the litmus test...
Update: The selection leaves a lot to be desired and this is something they will have to get on pronto... It has to be all the music... At least all the music that can be found in the grey to black market.
