I'm having bigger and bigger problems with Userland Radio. It is really crappy now. One of the stupid things it does is doing everything in the opposite from logical order. Two examples. If it decides (on its own or by your command) to upload your whole website (a process that can take days thanks to the crummy and old FTP client it comes with) it starts by the oldest file (your first post), instead of your newest one. Hence, your home page will be outdated, or worse nonexistent, until it finishes the uploading of every file and image that comes before. It uses names instead of creation dates. Stupid. Another example, it first uploads the Home page and then it updates it locally. Hence, if you just change something you are still going to see your old page until it decides to upload again (which in my case is never unless I quit and restart Radio). Finally, to add insult to injury, if you decide to stop the upstreaming and just do that part manually, it just won't update your local copy and, hence, you will have no new files to upload. Who designed this? Aren't they ashamed? And... Does the company reads blogs for complaints? I don't think so, I've been complaining for ages... Now, you may ask why don't I stop complaining and start changing my blogging software? Well, there are two reasons. One, it is tough. It is a huge job to decide and implement it (I am doing everything after all and won't accept a half-assed solution like blogger). Two, I've been told that there is nothing like the News Aggregator in Radio. That is an RSS Feed Reader that will permit me with one click to get the HTML of the feed, edit it, add to it, and post it with another click. That's the feature that got me to use Radio and it is the feature that is making it hard to give up.
