"Paramount Digital Entertainment and EarthLink have joined forces to create StarTrek.net powered by EarthLink, the universe's only 'Star Trek'-themed Internet access service. Embracing 'Star Trek's' huge popularity, the new service is designed to provide fans with fast and dependable access to the Internet and the 'Star Trek' universe through themed dial-up and high-speed Internet connections.
"Subscribers to StarTrek.net will receive the same award-winning Internet access that EarthLink subscribers receive, along with authentic 'Star Trek' theme versions of their Internet access software and browser, a StarTrek.net e-mail address, desktop customization options, and exclusive access to specially-created 'Star Trek' content — all at no additional cost to EarthLink's regular prices."
I can just imagine ... "It's mail, Jim."

Damn this broadband Internet connection; I was going to buckle right down to work this morning, but Texas Meryl linked to iFilm's streams of all the Super Bowl commercials I missed. The best: M&Ms (showing how, once you establish a character, simply his/her/its appearance on screen can be the punchline), Bud Light (continuing the Cedric series with a joke classic enough to have been done anytime), and Visa (Kevin Bacon going along with the in-joke).
No big deal, though; when I checked messages there was nothing except a reader hoping to enlist me in his argument that Dell sent him a defective notebook because when it's closed there's a 3mm gap between the base and screen.
