Oh boy oh boy oh boy! The comment counter, which I asked for on the Radio discussion list and was told was impossible, works (though I don't think it's been officially documented on Radio.UserLand.com yet; I noticed other Weblogs flaunting it today and had to Googlesearch for impossible-doer Jake Savin's homepage).
And I have a new computer, though I can't move over to it until I burn CDs of all the stuff on this old crasher and read up on how to move Radio and this log; decided (out of necessity) to be sensible and frugal, flip the bird to the macho overclockers and AMD fanboys in the Hardware Central forums and find out how much I could get for $650. I'm aware that Compaq Presarios consistently rate near the bottom of owner reliability and satisfaction surveys, but my two previous ones worked perfectly; I think the secret is to disable all the crap they put in the Startup menu to run in the background.

Coming to a head: The Weblog world has lots of avid beer drinkers, who'll be buzzing over British brewer Diageo's radical plan to use ultrasonic bar-mounted bubble blasters to deliver a foamy pint of Guinness in 20 seconds, sparing drinkers the traditional two-minute wait. A radical assault on heritage, or the biggest tech advance since CO2 cartridges in cans?
I confess that I'm not into Guinness; Patricia likes dark stout and porter, but I'm a lager and pilsner man. With my waistline I should try the new Sam Adams Light, but I'm confused — didn't Sam Adams already make a light beer called Lightship?
