My tip came from Jonathon via Accordion Guy, but by this afternoon more and more Weblogs worldwide were rushing to link to Tubcat, rapidly being adopted as mascot of the blogging movement and heavyweight champion of the snowballing "we're here, we blog, we post cat pictures, get used to it" crusade. John Dvorak was unavailable for comment.
Yes, Tubcat bears a tabby resemblance to your humble Weblog's managing editor S.K. Cooper. If Cooper had his way, it'd be an uncanny resemblance.

Andreas Pfeiffer asks the eternal question of whether anybody will pay for Web content; there's a decent analogy in there about how TV is subconsciously perceived as free (even though it isn't as it was in the antenna rather than cable days) because it's part of the household expenses, but people would balk at subscribing or paying for each channel separately, but the column's so dry and scholarly I kept tuning out. My favorite tabloid has a much more pithy and straightforward analysis, as well as intriguing news from the world of figure skating.

In a negotiating ploy analysts said NBC could find awkward to reject, the cast of "Friends" confirmed that they are asking $1 million apiece per episode for a possible ninth season of the popular sitcom. However, the six actors explained, they have agreed to keep only half that salary for themselves, donating the remainder to pay good salaries for nearly 1,100 public school teachers nationwide.
Sigh. I wish.
