Dan Gilmore: "Hollywood rolls Tech Industry" - What do you think is worse, the media companies getting their way on copyright issues or the tech companies slapping patents on every darn thing imaginable? So the lawyers for the media co's will fight with the lawyers for the tech co's and all of it will be refereed by the lawyers in Congress. And the little guy gets chewed up in the process I imagine. Does anybody really think the majority of voters would do anything about this situation? This is supposed to be a free country and theoretically we could vote the lawyers in Congress out of office, but that'll never happen because the voter is not yet directly impacted. And by the time Average Joe realizes how his pocket book is affected by these events, it will be his turn to BOGU. Most likely by that time it will be too late to affect substantial change. So this week the Baby Bell phone co's got their cake, the media co's seem to have gotten it as well and the Tech Industry got sort of a black eye. Free markets are wonderful for some aren't they?
