Life is funny. I ran across this music store in Santa Monica and fell in love with it. Its a small place, contains lots of wooden fixtures and doesn't have rows upon rows of CD's . I especially liked numerous small listening stations with up to 8 CD's - each having a small summary attached. The stations ran on Nachamichi players and had very soft well designed ear phones. The music sold there was considerably different from other stores as well. For example these guys promiently featured Sigur Ros and Chuck E. Weiss. What a cool place. Imagine my horror when I found out they were bought by Starbucks !
I bought two discs nonetheless. Of course Sigur Ros and the Gotan Project - and interesting fusion of brazialian instruments and singers performing tango music, with a little electronica thrown in.
