Wouldn't it be clever, on April fools day, to post some outrageous made-up story that would shock and/or appall you all? Candidate stories:
- I'm posting this from an internet cafe on Market St. When I arrived at work today there was a private security guard at the door who took my keys to the office and gave me a photocopied letter saying that the company has "concluded its operations" and that the services of employees are no longer required. Over the weekend I noticed that, while the last business day of the month was friday, my salary hadn't been direct-deposited to my bank account. In the letter there's the name and address of our law-firm that we're supposed to contact if we have any questions ...
- I thought this would be the ideal forum to announce to all my friends and family that Jen and I are engaged to be married! I've sent her a plane ticket and we're going to meet in Vegas this weekend to finally tie the knot!
- blah ...
What I'm getting at is I think April fools jokes on the web are getting a bit tedious.
