According to Toronto free (and worth every cent) Now Magazine the latest evil Israeli plan is to build a highway in Israel.

The quote from Jeff Aronson in the article gets it right, "it's hard to be opposed to a road that's being built in your own sovereign territory... So those people who are opposed are opposed for reasons other than the occupation. And it's a rather sophisticated argument that maybe the road itself is not in the Occupied Territories but it helps consolidate the road network."

The Israeli government approved plans for a 68-mile fence to protect the coastal plain from Palestinian terror attacks. While mostly along the border between Israel and the West Bank, about 30 square miles of the West Bank will be included in the fence.

I guess the AP reporter can complain about this also.

At the start of the Six-Day War Israel had only 71 soldiers in West Jerusalem to face the Jordanian Army in the Old City and East Jerusalem.

An Associated Press reporter does not like Israel taking West Bank land to build security fences. The plight of one Palestinian is described as follows:

to get to where his fields once were, the 66-year-old Alkim, whose face and hands have been weathered by the Middle Eastern sun and years of physical work, walks on foot for several hundred yards across a stretch of biblical land dotted with wild flowers and shrub.

Biblical land? In the Bible, the Jewish people controlled what is now the West Bank.
