The Jerusalem Post has a lengthy article on problems of bias at CNN and the BBC. It points of examples of bias by CNN and BBC reporters and how the management responds to claims of bias. It notes that often the CNN reporters in Israel are worse then their counterparts at the CNN headquarters in Atlanta while problems of bias are systematic at the BBC. (via Tal G.)

PBS has a Frontline documentary on the Israeli-Palestinian issue since the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995. Some key points from the documentary:

  • Whenever any sort of the agreement seemed in reach Hamas would stage suicide bomb attacks and Arafat did not do enough to stop them.
  • Ehud Barak’s withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon was extremely ill advised as it encouraged Arabs to fight rather than negotiate.
  • Barak has no fallback if the Camp David meeting with US President Clinton and Yasser Arafat failed.
  • Arafat never responses to the Israeli proposals at Camp David and the later Taba talks were too late.
  • The Palestinian claims that there was no Jewish Temple at the Temple Mount was extremely insulting and stupid.
