Somebody should start on investigate into recent events in horse racing. Just weeks after 70-1 shot Sarava won the 134th Belmont Stakes in the United States, T J's Lucky Moon, an 82-1 longshot won the $1 million 143rd running of the Queen's Plate at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. 8:46:56 PM ![]() |
The New York Times has an article with quotes from Munio Brandwein, an 89-year-old man from Kibbutz Yad Mordechai just north of the Gaza Strip. Mr. Brandwein compares the struggle facing Israelis today to the desperate fighting against Egyptian Army invaders in 1948. He notes that while Israel has military strength to do what it wants, it chooses not to for moral and political reasons. This of course is a further sign of its strength. Possibly the NBC repeat of the mini-series/movie Uprising prompted this article since Kibbutz Yad Mordechai is named after Mordechai Anilevicz who was a leader of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising shown in the movie. 12:12:58 AM ![]() |
