"Make music interesting again"
Horst PrillingerThe Record Industry Hasn't Got A Clue.  Prompted by a story in The Register, which attempts to shed a more realistic light on the record companies' complaints that they've done everything right and it's the evil Internet that is causing their shrinking revenues, I decided to write down my own thoughts on the matter..."  (more)

RIAA Site Defaced by Hackers.  BREAKING NEWS: So-called crackers deface the site that has long sparked controversy within their secretive community replacing legitimate content with links to interviews with 'South Park's' Eric Cartman and 'Adult Entertainment.'  [internetnews.com: Top News]

Here's a mirror of the hacked site before the RIAA shut down...

Dave Winer (Scripting News):  "Chris Chapman reports that the RIAA website was hacked overnight. He has a screen shot.  As a computer professional, I can never condone this sort of thing. It's not okay to deface other people's sites, no matter what the cause. Now, that said, of all the sites on the Web, the one I care the least about being hacked is the RIAA site because they are asking for the the legal right to do that to our computers. Remember the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Well said.  Hacking any website is wrong in my book, but hasn't the RIAA been inviting this very thing to happen?
