QUOTE OF THE DAY
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. - - Will Rogers
RHINO HERE: In years past, I used to say that my dream presidential ticket would be Bill Moyers for President and Gary Trudeau (Doonesbury) for vice president. Common knowledge has it that the V.P. really hasn't much to do in spite of being in the middle of so much action. So the idea of a V.P. having a sense of humor and the courage to use it to speak to the issues of the day really attracts me. That's also why I'm so fond of the legacy of Will Rogers. He traveled the world, performing lariet tricks for royalty & diplomats while telling jokes (truth filled) about all them & their bad judgements.
So when I learned about young Aaron McGruder, creator of "The Boondocks" (http://www.boondocks.net) comic strip, having a reputation for fearless commentary on world events, I was thrilled. Boondocks is the story of a group of African-American city kids adjusting to life in white suburbia.

Through his work, Aaron, a U. of Maryland African-American studies graduate, seeks to provoke thought, help improve the state of racial discourse and expand the types of humor found on comics pages.
