QUOTE OF THE DAY The wannabe governor has yet to deny that on May 17, 2001, at the Peninsula Hotel in Los Angeles, he had consensual political intercourse with Enron chieftain Kenneth Lay. Also frolicking with Arnold and Ken was convicted stock swindler Mike Milken... ... Schwarzenegger knowingly joined the hush-hush encounter as part of a campaign to sabotage a Davis-Bustamante plan to make Enron and other power pirates then ravaging California pay back the $9 billion in illicit profits they carried off. - - Greg Palast (from today's BOTTOM LINE) KNOW YOUR HISTORY - OCTOBER 6th 1966 -- LSD made an illegal drug in the US. California makes possession & use of LSD a felony. SAME DAY -- Thousands of acid heads attend the 1st big free concert in Golden Gate Park Panhandle, San Francisco. Deemed, the "Love Pageant" the Diggers start handing out free food (through March '67). Big Brother, Wildflower, The Dead & the Electric Chamber Orkustra entertained. 1979 -- Over 1,000 arrested at Seabrook, New Hampshire, site of construction for a nuclear power plant, in an occupation organized by Clamshell Alliance. 1989 -- The Dalai Lama, Tibet's exiled leader, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nearly 40-year non-violent campaign to end China's domination of Tibet. RHINO HERE: It continues to amaze me how so many supposedly conservative, moral minded Republicans can say they think Arnold is their man, despite the Maplethorpe nude photos of him, despite his self confessed drug taking, despite his countless complimentary comments about Adolph Hitler, despite his self described kinky sexual escapades & despite the ever growing list of women courageous enough reveal how Arnold intimidated & humiliated them with his groping. But if you have friends &/or relatives who plan to vote for Arnold in Tuesday's California Recall election, and they haven't been swayed by any of the above cited discustations, forward them today's RHINO'S BOTTOM LINE and then give them a call tonight to discuss it. It reveals a much more sinister side of the recall and Arnold's part in it, dealing with 9 BILLION dollars that may or may not be refunded to the State of California. If the recall is rejected by the voters, or, if Cruz Bustamante wins the backup election, it's likely the money will be returned to the state helping to fix many of its problems. If Arnold wins, the money's gone. On Friday, October 3, thirty-four pages of internal Enron memoranda came through the fax machine in the offices of investigative reporter and journalist Greg Palast. The memos were faxed to Palast by the Los Angeles based Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights whose excellent work has previously been featured here on Rhino's Blog many times. But first, here's an L.A. Times Commentary by K.B. Forbes, a GOP strategist, who was communications director for Republican Bill Simon's most recent gubernatorial campaign. He's the Poster Boy of Trash Politics LA Times COMMENTARY, October 3, 2003 By K.B. Forbes, Arnold Schwarzenegger has become the poster child for the newest form of trash politics: a political system so corrupt and undemocratic that a compulsive sexual deviant was anointed the de facto nominee by California GOP bosses in a smoke-free backroom. How much did Schwarzenegger's campaign team know about his egregious sexual behavior? Did they intentionally attempt to conceal this pattern of sexual harassment from voters? Did leaders of the California Republican Party look the other way in their desperation to win back the governorship? In an era in which a candidate's first order of business is to hire an opposition research specialist to investigate his own past, it's hard to imagine that this was overlooked... Arnold Unplugged - It's hasta la vista to $9 billion if the Governator is selected by Greg Palast, gregpalast.com, October 3, 2003 It's not what Arnold Schwarzenegger did to the girls a decade back that should raise an eyebrow. According to a series of memoranda our office obtained today, it's his dalliance with the boys in a hotel room just two years ago that's the real scandal. The wannabe governor has yet to deny that on May 17, 2001, at the Peninsula Hotel in Los Angeles, he had consensual political intercourse with Enron chieftain Kenneth Lay. Also frolicking with Arnold and Ken was convicted stock swindler Mike Milken. Now, thirty-four pages of internal Enron memoranda have just come through this reporter's fax machine tell all about the tryst between Maria's husband and the corporate con men. It turns out that Schwarzenegger knowingly joined the hush-hush encounter as part of a campaign to sabotage a Davis-Bustamante plan to make Enron and other power pirates then ravaging California pay back the $9 billion in illicit profits they carried off. Here's the story Arnold doesn't want you to hear. The biggest single threat to Ken Lay and the electricity lords is a private lawsuit filed last year under California's unique Civil Code provision 17200, the "Unfair Business Practices Act." This litigation, heading to trial now in Los Angeles, would make the power companies return the $9 billion they filched from California electricity and gas customers. It takes real cojones to bring such a suit. Who's the plaintiff taking on the bad guys? Cruz Bustamante, Lieutenant Governor and reluctant leading candidate against Schwarzenegger. Now follow the action... IT'S ALL AT: Arnold Unplugged "RHINO'S BLOG" is the responsibility of Gary Rhine.
