HA! After years of listening to feminists go on about how men are no longer needed for reproduction, researchers at Cornell University have come up with an artificial womb. some feminists now say that men could keep our species going with out them should this be possible. I don't see how it would be possible without an egg though, if I recall my High School biology correctly, the sperm lacks a critcal gene that is found only in the egg.
Good to know that those pulp Sci Fi writers are still inspiring todays scientists whether they realize it or not. UPDATE: The term is parthenogenesis, meaning reproduction without the benefit of sex. A big thanks to The Straight Dope for that one.

This Denver Post story really bothers me. Rather than shooting down planes, whay aren't we putting people with frangable ammunition onboard, people who have been trained in how to shoot. I know the Sky Marshalls program has been stepped up, but having a well armed and trained citizenry would certainly be a help as well.
