12:10 am on a Monday morning in the northern suburbs of Chicago. 5 more days of vacation and then it's back to the salt mines.
Today was a day of eating. I can almost breathe now. A bunch of folks gathered at my sister in law and her husband's Thai restartaunt this afternoon and the food just kept on coming. Lots of different dishes and all but one were great. We were there from about 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Started reading Tom Wolfe's Hooking Up (a collection of short pieces). I guess I've been reading tech books too long because it feels like such a breath of fresh air to read a book by a great writer.
Yesterday we went to the Borders on Lake Cook Road. That store was the first Borders I ever was in and it's still the best I've seen. A couple of days ago I went to a Borders closer to where we were staying but it was unsatisfying. The selection wasn't what I remembered from the Lake Cook store. My wife was even happy yesterday because she picked up When Harry Met Sally in the Border's DVD section (she's been wanting this movie for a while now) on sale for nine bucks and some change.
