These new predictions about semiconductor growth:
Late on Wednesday, the SIA said global sales of chips are expected to increase 3.1 percent during 2002, 23.2 percent in 2003, 20.9 percent in 2004, and 0.9 percent during 2005.
During the trade group's last mid-year update, held exactly one year ago, growth for 2002 was predicted at 20.5 percent, 25 percent during 2003, and 7 percent in 2004.
So, they were WAY off for 2002, 2003 has come down 4.1% and 2004 comes down 6.1%. This is good news?
Or are the current year #'s so off that they're not worth paying any attention to at all?
