Sigh... There Will Be a Delay in Today's Blogging Goodness
I just got a call from my real estate agent. There's a 9 am showing all of a sudden. This means I get to sync code down to my laptop and head for Starbucks where I hang until I can go work at my Partner's house since there are more showings later today (and being then when your house is shown sucks beyond compare).
There will be that frothy php goodness later today or tomorrow. Of that you can be sure.

Audio Blogging Anyone?
I was over on Russell Beatie's blog recently and saw his work on "Audio Blogging" and really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of spoken MP3 as a knowledge dissemination tool but I don't know that listening to random blog entries actually matters all that much. What I do think might be interesting from an Audio Blogging perspective is focused lectures / talks on topical materials. Jake on Radio or Jon Udell on Groupware or Dave on anything he's into or Kjartan on Drupal. So I recorded a 15 minute lecture on "How to Collect Bad Debts when You are a Small Company". It's right now in a Panasonic RR-US320 USB syncable digital recorder. But .... How the heck do I make a .VM1 audio file that is ADPCM encoded into an MP3 file ? Google didn't have the answer
Any ideas? The lecture is a little random and there's some background noise I'd need to filter out but the topic is definitely on point and I've rarely, if ever been stiffed on debt collection. If anyone has an idea, thanks in advance.

Jake Savin and Lawrence Lee = My Heroes for Today. No Lie.
You probably know that I believe in calling a spade a spade. But I also believe in praise when someone does something just plain outstanding and Jake and Lawrence, two of the main folks at UserLand, are my heroes for today. Here's why:
- Jake pops up on my IM screen and tells me that Stories can now have comments
- And that Lawrence wrote it
- We chat for a bit
- I add it to my template
- Make a test story
- Success!!!
- Blog entry of praise
Seriously. This is a well needed feature. Jake knows I write mainly stories so he let me know about it when it was done. That's very cool. And the fact that Lawrence is improving his skills is even more cool. Nice job guys, nice job.
