Last November I wrote an open Letter to Microsoft expressing my frustration that their business model makes it hard for our law firm to buy their software even when we want to. I used as an example our desire to switch from Groupwise to Outlook. Apparently, four people googled the phrase "switching from Groupwise to Outlook" today and found that old story (which shows up as the 8th hit). I wonder if any of the searchers were from Microsoft.

Jamie Foxx and Regina King are in town making a movie about Ray Charles, and they went to Harrah's Casino one night and got pissed off when they were asked to produce identification. One thing led to another and the cops came and they were arrested. I suppose I don't have all of the facts, but it is clear that Regina King's assessment of New Orleans is colored by her one incident at a Casino. And it's possible that the incident is more a reflection of the character of the "well-known" actors rather than the entire populace of a City that most regard as filled with warm and friendly people.
Chris Rose's observations on the Foxx/King incident are worth reading. I'll say this, if Jamie Foxx did call the Casino employees who asked him for identification "niggers," then he should be ashamed of himself. Even if he didn't he still has a lot of explaining to do. And probably some apologizing too.
