They need to ask why consumers are not going to record stores to buy music and then give consumers what they would gladly pay for, content in a format that would play on their new output device. Why can't I go to a music sore and walk out with a memory stick customized with the play list and music I want to listen to? The music industry is not facing the fact that 7% of their consumers are clammering for a new format. You can't stick a cd in an mp3 player and jogging with an mp3 player is a far better customer experience than jogging with a cd player.
