Its not just about how well the information is organized much has to do with how it feels when it goes down. I mean what is the memorable quality or after taste left behind.
There has been a lot of hub-bub and fanfare about the launching of the Asilomar Institute for Information Architecture where the mission is to "advance the design of shared information environments".
All well and fine, but why is the site so damn ugly and uninspiring? What is it with the IA community and usability zealots that they feel that to be successful they must champion the divorce of usability from emotion and aethetics?
