As I type, it's an incredibly balmy 61 degrees. Today's official high of 64 degrees broke the previous record of 61 degrees. However, in many parts of town, it was 70 degrees. Heck, it hit 70 degrees only a few times this summer.

This literally tropical air has been brought to us by an unusually intense jet stream that has sucked warm air and moisture from the tropics and blown it our way. The wind is pretty amazing - a hundred miles an hour on The Hillside.

I don't think I ever remember an October day this warm. UPDATE: I just checked the National Weather Service site, this was the warmest day ever recorded in October.

Needless to say, all the termination dust is definitely gone.
