Yesterday's post featured pictures of the beach and 80 degrees of warm sun. Today's post is all about our first significant snowfall of the year. I arrived home Friday evening - it was a whopping 17 degrees - quite a change from Santa Monica and the mid-80's. Saturday was sunny - but cold. And then yesterday morning - SNOW! Wow - talk about climate change.
At our end of town, we got about six inches. And it snowed another two inches today. I think (hope!) that it's here to stay. However, it warmed up to 32 degrees today and the new snow was wet on top of yesterday's snow that had a bit of glaze. As a result, footing was treacherous. I fell more times today during Tyge's noontime constitutional than I did in the past three years in total. I never fall - I may slip and slide. But I never hit the ground. However, today was different. I went down hard, three different times. I think we had a superlubricity thing going. The coefficient of friction must have actually been less than zero.
Here are a few pictures from yesterday, just as the snow was starting to fall. Peter, Tyge, and Alex were getting ready to head out on their Sunday morning run. Tyge is even wearing booties!
Alex, Tyge, and Peter I:
