I'm a much happier camper this evening. Things took a turn for the better this afternoon when I checked into day surgery. After I changed into my little hospital gown thingie, the nurse went through all of the preliminary questions and vital measuring and then started my IV. Once the IV was in and up and running, I was home free. I laid down on my hospital bed, the nurse piled on heated blankets and I read the New Yorker until it was time to be wheeled into the procedure room. Trust me - that was definitely the good life.

The colonoscopy itself was fine, although I gave my nurses and doctor a hard time as they were doing the prep for the colonoscopy. One of the nurses asked for the "butt pump". I said, "butt pump?????!!!!". They laughed and then the anesthesiologist sent me on my way to happy land.

Ugh...What an absolutely hideous morning. At 5:00 AM this morning, Tyge was in the warning throes of getting sick, so I staggered downstairs and got him outside. While he was "ralphing" in the woods, I started to become very sick myself - I almost passed out, managed to pull it together enough to get upstairs to the bathroom where I was violently sick. I have never ever felt that bad and I've felt pretty bad in my day. Wow. I wonder if that's what food poisoning is like.

Anyhoo, after the initial on-slaught I was sort regrouping and trying to keep from passing out when I heard Tyge furiously barking - outside! Augh...I hadn't left the door open for him to come inside after he was done. I staggered downstairs and opened the door. Tyge was out in the blizzard defending our house against the poor paper boy. I called Tyge and got him in. I then collapsed on the entryway floor. Man - talk about brutal.

Fortunately, I think I'm close to being through the worst of it. Lowell will be by in a few minutes to pick me up and we'll head off through the foot of fresh snow to the hospital where my colonoscopy awaits.

I am so looking forward to this being done. Right now, I would kill for something icy cold to drink.

As I type it's blizzarding away - we have a good six inches of new snow on the ground. I was up until about 1:00 AM this morning - busy with the after effects of fleet's phosphosoda. At that time, there was no snow.

But at 5:00 AM when I shot out of bed at the urging of the fleet's, I noticed a whiteout through the window as I dashed to the bathroom.

Oh Boy!!!!! I LOVE blizzards!
