Wow! That's what I'm reduced to proclaiming after seeing Cirque de Soleil's Ka this evening. I have never seen anything so wonderfully glorious and entertaining. Complete and total spectacle of the highest caliber. The dancing. The acrobatics. The aerobatics. The flow. The sets. The...everything.
The story, like most opera story lines, was pretty lame. However, the story is really secondary - it provides the flow and reason for scenes and fantastical settings - a dizzyingly high arboreal forest populated by giant creatures, Tarzan, and trapeze nymphs. A giant rotating vertical wall that served as an amazing battle site. A jaw dropping mechanical thing with opposing arms/buckets that was propelled by acrobats doing the most incredible things as they drove the rotations of the machine. I could go on and on and on.
I had a total blast. The only thing lacking was no Ski Boy. The next time I come to Vegas, the Ski Boy has to come along - just for Cirque de Soleil.

I was contemplating getting tickets to tonight's Cirque de Soleil show, KA at the MGM grand. I tried to check out their web site, but my hotel internet connection is too slow. So, I really couldn't get a feel for the show.
However, looking out my window this morning, I started to pay attention to all the giant (and I mean giant) video displays that populate The Strip. For example, across the street, I have a bird's eye view of the Bellagio monitor. Cirque's "O" is at the Bellagio, so their video display was running "O" clips. Looking further south down The Strip, I could see the MGM Grand's video screen, and there was KA!
I've never viewed previews out the window of a hotel room before.
