As I type, I'm in Seattle at my home away from home, The Vintage Park. I had a good time in Vegas, but I'm happy to be in Seattle. Everything in Las Vegas is on a colossal scale. And I'm not kidding. One needs to mount an expedition just to cross the street. It was an 1/8 mile from Caesar's to the street. And then another 1/8 mile to the Starbuck's at Harrah's - which is actually "just across the street". Man.
And the buildings. Holy cow. The properties are acres and acres- and those acres are all inside. Wow.
Anyhoo, I'm happy to be back in normal scale land.
Right now, I happen to be watching ESPN and the NFR - the National Finals Rodeo to you non-cowboy folks. I have a real soft spot for rodeo. It's those Kansas roots. I went to a lot of steer ropings when I was a kid. The NFR is always held in Vegas and it was a ton of fun to be in Vegas with all the cowboys.
