As we approach the end of 2006, I am 2,620 miles short of making Alaska Airlines' MVP Gold. As frequent travelers can attest, MVP Gold is worth its weight in, well, gold. When one has attained the exalted Gold status, change fees are waived, one is frequently (very frequently) upgraded to first class, one is whisked to the front of the security line, one is often given free drinks even when in steerage, and one gets the annual box of absolutely fabulous cookies.
A roundtrip between Anchorage and Seattle is 2900 miles. So, last week I booked my MVP Gold run - a one day trip to Seattle for lunch at Cafe Campagne, shopping, dinner at Wild Ginger and then the three hour flight back home. I also snagged Mom a miles ticket so she's coming with me. She just loves the concept of flying to Seattle for lunch!

I haven't posted much over the past several days. It's been a flat out holiday whirlwind!!!!! Presents, parties, dinners, snow and more snow. Just wonderful. I have all sorts of pictures which I'll subject folks to over the next several days.
