I'm feeling totally ughie tonight. Remember all those Irritable Bowel entries of the past week? Well things aren't getting any better and are actually getting a tad worse. My mid-back is killing me and I just feel sick. And not CFS/FMS or flu sick - just systemically sick.

It dawned on me yesterday that all of this might not be IBS. It's beginning to feel a tad different and it is not going away. Usually, IBS will go away and come back and go away and come back. So decided I should maybe have this checked out. And, amazingly, I got in to see my gastroenterologist (Dr. Boissen) today. Dr. Boissen is yet another one of the great docs on my team - I really think highly of him.

Anyhoo, I described my symptoms to Dr. Boissen and finished up by saying that it's probably just all IBS. His response was great - he said that people with IBS get all the same stuff that other folks get. The reason I appreciated his response is that I'm very gun shy about going to docs with complaints that can't be immediately nailed. A definite result of many years with CFS and FMS symptoms that went unrecognized and were attributed to AIYH.

Dr. Boissen finished my exam and ordered up some tests. I again said that I thought it was IBS. He stated that the symptoms were not consistent with IBS and something else is going on. So, I go in for tests on Tuesday. I still think it is probably just some bizarre manisfestation of IBS. But at least we're gonna take a look at what's going on.
