I had my little DISIDA test this morning. Other than the giant IV needle in the arm, it was completely painless and trouble free. I didn't even have to put on one of those stupid hospital gowns. The tech proudly said that you don't have to wear gowns with "Nuclear Medicine."
Basically, I just laid very still for two hours on a under a giant apparatus that was about 4 inches from my chest and gut. I couldn't read or do anything else. It was a golden opportunity to snooze but the table was cold, hard, and narrow. So I didn't do much sleeping. Instead I just stared at the monitor and watched my gall bladder start to glow as the isotope oozed in.
The results should be in tomorrow. I have no idea if a problem showed up in the test or not. The techs were amazingly non-communicative.
