What was I saying? Right, Future Bible Heroes. Whenever I hear Claudia Gonson sing “I’m a Vampire” on my whatever I have playing it, I keep trying to imagine her doing it with aplomb—that is, without cracking up onstage. She does that sometimes. I really must stop going to dinner with Matthew. I want to be sociable and all, especially besieged* as we are, or can feel out here, but he’s the kind of person who likes expensive dinners with small portions in trendy locations, and I don’t have an expense account. Yet.

Or it could be that he’s paranoid, which is feeding into my (well-known) paranoia. I never quite sussed that out.
