Tuesday morning, I got up in the night to grab a look at the Leonids. I saw maybe six before I realized that it was way too cold for your faithful blogger to be reclining sickly in the pre-dawn air. My sore throat was not quite gone, but I was confident I could get back to work that day, and wanted an early start. Then a coughing fit brought me low. The Leonids were pretty flashes in the night sky, but the radiant had gone behind a tree, so most were half-glimpsed.

Re-reading Kent Beck, actually two Kent Becks, the Guide to Better... and the ...Best Practice Patterns books, as well as an old favorite, McConnell’s Code Complete. Well, not reading, obviously, so much as skimming back and forth and trying to build connections. Book surfing.

Liz found a nice recommendation interface to the Blogging Ecosystem. As she says:
Enter your blog's URL and this search engine recommends others you might like.

Finally, my questions answered...
What was the paper about?
It was about Chinatown, and the formation of Chinatowns in America. I lost like three pages of it; it was terrible. It was a really, really good paper.
...except one...
zach frechette ’04 forgot to ask if ellen knows janie porche’s phone number.

Jenny the Shifted Librarian blogs the stuffing out of the Revenge of the Blog conference. It’s mostly straight reportage, excellent stuff. More commentary at the Kitchen Cabinet.

Quick, Allan Baruz,
Be critical yet again:
Should’ve been renga...”

“...or perhaps double dactyls.
Renga would’ve flowed nicely.”

Quite a feat, Paul!

It’s like the Germans after World War II kept saying, “Oh, ve vere dat close to the atom bomb and vinning the var.” Yes, you were... and then you killed all your nerds.
