Statements like this irk me... and it isn't just because I work for Microsoft. I think any technologist with a bit of honesty must admit that no platform is immune from attack.

Hackers go after Windows because there are more stupid Windows users so their virus spreads faster giving a bigger boost to their immature egos. Also, some of them think they have to make the point that Windows installations, and their users, are often insecure... like we didn't all know that already!

If you ask me, getting a kick out of being successful with a virus on Windows is sort of like claiming fame for rolling a bowling ball down a mountain. It isn't very hard to get the bowling ball to the top, and it has no were to go but down.
