Dave Winer says:

Microsoft clearly has jumped over to the dark side. It wasn't always so. At one point they were willing to bet on their engineering. Today they're betting on their lawyers.

I think that an external influence had a lot to do with such a change in external appearance. External appearance? All I know is that pride in engineering is the major factor in my everyday work life.

In regards to the disclaimer at the top of the Microsoft shared source license, Dave Winer says "It's a poison pill for sure. Very clear." If this is the actual legal implication of the disclaimer (which I am not qualified to judge), I am honestly disappointed. I had hoped for more.
