With the exception of some insightful comments by Tony Attwood the topic of Asperger's and dating has largely been neglected. But I'd like to raise the "flipside" of this issue as well: What happens to the dating or relationship partners of AS individuals? While there are many things to say about this I would like to begin this conversation by stating emphatically that partners must cultivate alternative relationships inorder to satisfy their needs for intimate connection. That's right! Non-AS ("neurotypicals") should develop and maintain close relationships with other men and women.
