Most scientists get it: sending astronauts to the moon and on to Mars is all about putting together a program that will appeal to the public, so Congress will fund it. It has nothing to do with good science, and it's certainly not cost-effective. Dr. Park explains it:
The Dark Side of the Moon. Human space exploration is too expensive and provides too little return. By ROBERT L. PARK. [NYT > Opinion]
Going to Mars is not the future of mankind. Chances are, we'll have used up all of Earth's resources before we can get more than a rocket-load of astronauts to Mars. Let's focus, people: our life is here, not out there. Fix it here, or forget about it.

Dynamite interview with Karen Schriver, who has obviously been thinking long and hard about technical communication, information design, and how it's all related to UX:
Karen A. Schriver: The InfoDesign interview. "Regularly, InfoDesign interviews a thought leader in the design industry, focusing on people who are identified with or show strong sensibilities to the design of information and experiences. This time, Peter J. Bogaards interviews Karen A. Schriver." (Peter J. Bogaards) [InfoDesign: Understanding by Design]
I can't wait for Karen's next book.
