If I ever run out of books to read, this list might come in handy:

Libraries' 1000 most commonly held books. Cory Doctorow: The Online Computer Library Center has published its list of the top 1000 books held by its library-members -- The Bible, the Census, Mother Goose, the Divine Comedy and the Odyssey top the chart. Link (via Smart Patrol) [Boing Boing]

Notice what comes in at #15: Garfield. Presumably not just the volume pictured, but all 50 zillion volumes in the never-ending series.

Not that I'm running out of things to read. I just got deep enough in to Neil Gaiman's American Gods to be completely enthralled when Christopher Moore's latest, A Dirty Job, shows up in today's mail (pre-ordered from Amazon, of course). I expect one of these will be with me on the plane to CHI next month.
