Well, this should be interesting: an open-source user assistance platform--
OASIS Launches New Users Assistance Initiaitve. According to announcement in the May 1, 2006 OASIS News, a new email discussion list has been created to determine if there is sufficient interest in creating an OASIS Technical Committee (TC), chartered to develop "a cross-platform standard for application-integrated software user assistance documentation." [ The Content Wrangler] If someone would like to write about this for the upcoming "Help!" special issue of ACM , please contact me. Speaking of which, this special issue has been delayed until January, 2007, so there's still time to get involved. If I didn't post the CFP earlier (memory? what memory?), I'll do it soon. . .
